Henry McGee, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®
Principal and Founder
Henry is the Principal and founder of Financial Resources, LLC, along with his father, Sam McGee. The two formed their company together in 2013. Henry began his career with New York Life in 2002, immediately upon graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Finance and a minor in Investments. He became the fourth generation in his family, joining his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, to build a career in the life insurance and investment business.
Henry is passionate about his career, evidenced by the industry boards he serves on, along with his continued learning. He has obtained both the CFP®, CLU®, and ChFC® designations, which allow him to have a much deeper understanding of the situations he and his clients work through together.
Henry and his wife Lindsey are the proud parents of three children, Brett (10), Henry (8), and Bo (5). If Henry is not in his office, then you will most likely find him coaching either on the soccer field, basketball court, or baseball diamond. One of the few things he enjoys more than his career is spending time with his growing family as much as possible!

Samuel McGee
Principal and Founder
Sam is the Principal and founder of Financial Resources, LLC, along with his son, Henry. Sam began his career with New York Life in 1977 in Augusta, GA. Shortly thereafter he relocated his family back up to Greenville and began building his business from the ground up.
He remains extremely active today, continuously serving his clients and delivering on the promises he has made over his 40 year career. When he’s not in the office though, he is usually chasing his grandkids (8 of them!) or spending time in the mountains or at the beach.

Jim Garvin
Paraplanner
Growing up in the Youngstown, Ohio area, Jim was taught at an early age to appreciate the value of the dollar and a hard day's work. Throughout his college years, he had some wonderful mentors in his life who directed him in the right direction and instilled in him the entrepreneurial spirit. This led him to studying finance and graduating as a CFP candidate from Youngstown State University.
Upon graduating, he began work as a small business consultant, working alongside small business owners to improve their cash flows, profitability, and to help them understand their customers a little better. Several doors opened and he had the opportunity to move to Saint Louis, MO, where he began working as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Over time as his experience grew, he created his own firm called "Garvin Planning Co." to help independent financial planners better serve their clients.
On a personal note, he grew up in the BSA and obtained his Eagle Scout which laid the foundation for his adventurous character. He is a big outdoorsman and traveler, and often includes his black lab named Daffodil. Jim’s favorite hobbies in the world are skiing, running, and scuba diving. Every free chance he gets to be outside and enjoying nature, he takes! As a virtual financial planner, he cherishes his location independence and is in the process of working through his personal bucket list.

Administrative Coordinator
Amy was born and raised in the Greenville, South Carolina area. She graduated from D. W. Daniel High School in 2001. Amy began her insurance career with New York Life in 2011 and has continued her career as an Administrative Assistant to Sam McGee and Henry McGee for the past 7 years. She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with long-time boyfriend, Myron, their children, Daniel, Parker, Noah, and Romi, and their two cats, Mac and Tiger.
